CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT FUNDRAISER!

In the last post, I mentioned the one fundraiser I was able to put together. It’s Christmas ornaments 🙂

I have 24 designs for you to choose from. Half are pet themed, the other half are snarky ’21 themed. They can be ordered in JJ’s Magic Store on his fundraising page here:

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT 2020 – JJ and Bandit Fundraiser Opportunity!

I 3D printed my first ornament of the year.

People liked it. I was encouraged to print more. So I did.

Not Your Ordinary Christmas Cards

My husband needed something a little extra special. I looked at what I was working on – files from the Silhouette Design store to make Christmas ornaments.

I made the ornaments.

And cards.

I made the ornaments, as designed and directed, but I did employ some print and cut. I also added a few extra layers to the back of the ornaments for a little more stability.

Then I designed the cards to have the opening cut out to fit the ornament. I also printed off a flat, one layer design that looked like the paper layered design in the ornament. I printed it then cut it out. I didn’t want a blank circle once the recipients removed their ornament. You can kind of see the different stages in this picture.

I affixed the ornament to the card front using some dotto/hermafix temporary adhesive by EK Success. I like this because it holds things in place, but has an easy release and rubs off cleanly.

Christmas Card Making Has Begun

Last year, my husband asked me to make cards for him to use at work. Challenge accepted!

I’m starting early this year 🙂

I don’t have the attention span to make many of the same design, so card making doesn’t go as fast as it might. But I enjoy it more this way 🙂

So here are the first three 🙂

This one was  quick and simple. I cut out the image and matted it. The “paper” behind it is a pattern from the Silhouette store that I also had my machine print and cut out before layering it all on the card front.

This second one is simple enough, but there’s a tweak. Having the patterns available in the Silhouette Store is great, especially if you’re doing digital work to save a little time (Have I mentioned that I’m a little short on time these days?). But one of the drawbacks is that they’re NOT EDITABLE. For example, you can’t change red and white striped paper to something like the striped paper below…except I did. I figured out how to alter an unalterable item. Maybe some of you already figured out a way to do this, but I’m feeling a little magical right now 😉

For this third one, I pulled out some stamps to help finish things off 🙂 I forgot how much little things like that can add to a card.
