For Birthday Girl Two!

31 10 2017

And in just about a week, there’s another birthday πŸ™‚

This time, we celebrated an 18th birthday! Wowzers! She didn’t ask for anything too exciting – just iTunes gift cards – so I made a few things for her πŸ™‚

She’s been studying French in school for years and would love to visit some day. I bought these files from the Silhouette Store with her in mind πŸ™‚

You can’t see from this angle, but the back ground is a cloudy sky. The tower was printed, then cut out. I cut just the outline (no printing) out two more times and layered everything with foam tape to give it some dimension.

I printed these out, but they were a little flat. I used pencils and markers to give them a little life πŸ™‚ I added the word Dream beneath the pictures. The “stamps” are affixed with foam tape πŸ˜€

This card was fun πŸ™‚ I used the plain boxcard template from SVG Cuts. I gathered the other elements from the Silhouette Store and somehow this happened. I think there may have been a little magic involved πŸ™‚

My Dragonfly Tiffany Lamp – part 2

Nothing extra to add except a picture of what it looks like lit up in the dark πŸ™‚

Birthday Card

22 10 2017

This was my girl’s birthday card πŸ™‚

I used the plain box card file in one of the box card kits in have. I used papers and items from a CA2 kit to decorate it.

I added the papers to the patterns folder and the images I dragged in to the Silhouette workspace and traced.

Obviously, the box card file was altered to fit the project πŸ™‚

Paris Under the Stars Birthday Party

21 10 2017

I’ve beenΒ  working on things for my daughter’s birthday party. It’s finally finished. I’ve shared some of the pieces but not all, and not all together.

Here’s everything together.

I Needed to Color…Like Really Needed To

18 10 2017

So I did. And I found a kinda creepy thing to color.

October is busy here. Two birthdays, parties for those birthdays, parent teacher conferences, and Halloween. I have stuff to post, just haven’t had the time 😦

But this is an easy post πŸ™‚

Eiffel Tower – Further Proof I May be a Little Crazy

7 10 2017

I’ve had this file for a while. I’ve wanted to make it for a while. It seemed like quite the undertaking, but my daughter’s having a Paris themed birthday party so this really seemed like a good time to try it out.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be πŸ™‚

Some tips, though, in case you want to give this a whirl.

1. Because of the intricate cuts, don’t use an ultra sticky mat. Obviously, it needs to be sticky enough to hold the paper, but you need it to release the paper easily, too, or all those little pieces can tear.

2. Be patient while your machine cuts the pieces out. Mine took a bit, but it cut well, so it was worth it πŸ™‚

3. Temporary adhesive is your friend. So many similar pieces, but there are different. While placing the top pieces on (in my case the black pieces) i used temporary adhesive to get the pieces where I needed them then went back and added permanent adhesive.

4. Have fun πŸ™‚

Halloween Lantern

3 10 2017

Because I could πŸ™‚

Originally, this was designed to be smaller and sit on a table top. I enlarged it and I’m working on a way to hang it πŸ™‚

It’s such a fun design!
